There is a great deal to keep all ages occupied in the area surrounding Mas Saint Damien.

L’Isle sur la Sorgue, ‘The Venice of France’, is just 3 km from the house. L’Isle is a mecca for antique enthusiasts as there are over a hundred antique dealers with outlets in town and at the weekend and during frequent fairs, this number swells considerably. There are some wonderful shops in L’Isle as well as a plethora of excellent restaurants, bars and cafes.

The historical village of Fontaines de Vaucluse is a very pretty 15 minute drive and it has some excellent restaurants and small shops as well as the famous walk up to the source. The stunning Luberon villages of Gordes, Gault, Menerbes, Bonnieux, Rousillon, Oppede le Vieux and Lacoste are all a short drive or even cycle ride away and all deserve a visit.

There is excellent golf and extensive cycling on the doorstep and if you are not already keen cyclists do consider trying ‘electric bikes’. Please click here for more information on golf or cycling. In addition there is canoeing, horse riding, fishing and even a ‘Go Ape’ tree top adventure course within ten minutes drive.

Getting There

Avignon is 24 km away (TGV Avignon is a 30 minute drive, Avignon airport is even less) and Marseille airport is less than an hour’s drive. Trains run from both Marseille and Avignon to the centre of L’Isle.

If you are driving from Northern France, the journey from Calais to Mas Saint Damien is about 9 hours.
